Louisa Harding studied Textiles for Fashion at Brighton University. During her third year she undertook a placement at Rowan Yarns, who published two of her first designs in Rowan Magazine No. 6. After graduation Louisa worked as in-house designer for Rowan Yarns, where she selected yarns, designed/wrote patterns and contributed to their publications. Since having children, Louisa has been working alongside her husband Stephen who photographs all her collections. Together they created the Miss Bea series of knitting books, inspired by their daughter Belle.
As a result of the Miss Bea series she was very fortunate to be given the opportunity of introducing her own line of yarns and pattern publications in 2005. She enjoys the creative experience of playing with yarn, colour, texture and designing and photographing beautiful knitwear patterns.
The 2015 Autumn Winter collection introduces two new yarns. Trenzar is an innovative and exciting blend of heritage and contemporary fibres, once knitted the fabric has a fabulous drape, there are ten provocative winter bright shades with fourteen elegant and feminine hand knitting projects showcased in a dedicated publication ‘Chateau’. Amitola Grande is a development of one of the best loved yarns in the Louisa Harding yarn collection. Using the Scottish influence, textured, tweed and herringbone stitches embrace the nature of this luxurious self striping yarn. There are twelve beautiful shades presented in ‘Aberfeldy’ a collection of fourteen hand knitting projects for garments and accessories. There have been new shades added to the popular Esquel, Amitola, Cassia and Grace yarn ranges, each having exciting new pattern support in the form of individual leaflets.
